Let There Be White Challenge

I am joining the challenge posted by Kathleen over at Cuisine Kathleen.  For her Let's Dish Party we were to create a white on white table with one accent color.
I hemmed and hawed about even trying this challenge until I went furniture shopping with my daughter at Ikea.  Now what does that have to do with doing a white table?  Well that is where I saw these chargers!
They are really candle plates from Ikea, but I thought they made wonderful chargers, plus the price was right.
I thought these chargers could easily look kind of Victorian but I chose to take them another direction and go bold with an accent color of orange.

What better to use as a centerpiece than actual oranges and clementines.
This table is really making me crave a Mimosa!

Thanks for stopping by :)

In the past few years my interests have grown from fabric to paper and now to dishes too! I just love prints, polkadots, plaids and paisleys- hence the blog name.

  1. Ann, your white table with the orange accents is making me want a mimosa too! It's fresh and full of citrus goodness. Actually it reminds me or orange sherbet, so on second thought I'll skip the mimosa and have an orange sherbet.

  2. Hi Ann! I wanted those chargers/candle plates when I bought my clear glass plates at Ikea. Aren't they beautiful with that lacy edging? Your orange sure adds a pop of fun color and perfect centerpiece, too!

  3. Ann I thought the same when I saw those chargers at Ikea. Now I have to find them sure could have used them this week. Orange was a great color choice bright and playful.

  4. Ann, Summer, summer, summer! orange and white is summer to me and you captured it on your table. I drooled over those IKEA trays too and almost bought them last year. I did buy the candle holders that match them and after seeing how wonderful they work as a charger, I am going to get them on our annual fall shopping extravaganza to Atlanta. Dianne

  7. I will be right over for that Mimosa!! I am crazy about all of your orange - so bright and cheerful. You cannot possibly get into a bad mood looking at this table. The charger idea was absolutely brilliant and I love the centerpiece. What a great cake stand - love the way you can change the ribbon to match your table. This table is really an "original"!

  8. Wow! I love the "chargers"!! Brilliant! I was such a wimp with my table, trying to do all neutrals is so boring for a color person like me, I LOVE the bright orange and white! You get my vote, adorable!

  9. LOVE LOVE LOVE this whole table! The chargers are wonderful. I sure wish I lived near an IKEA... The orange just pops out from the whites and has such a wonderful, dramatic effect. Yet even though it's dramatic, it's still casual and happy looking. I'm one of those people who loves orange, and this table rocked my socks.
