4th of July and Apple Pie

We are ready to celebrate the 4th of July with some Apple Pie!
Not just any old Apple Pie!  But prize winning mini pies!
We set the table with some good old Red White and Blue.'
I love these bowls because each one has a different pattern.
I topped the bowls with some candles and sparklers.  These stick candles are nice for lighting the sparklers.
Gingham checked napkins and denim plates and mugs all add a little more Americana to the mix.
Reminiscent of a good old county fair, we handed out some ribbons!
That third pie wasn't quite so pretty.  You should have seen the first batch!!  They never made it in the pictures!!  Of course my husband didn't mind - he said they tasted just fine!
We will be enjoying some fireworks to celebrate Independence Day!

It will be interesting to see if our new puppy, Lucy, will like the fireworks as much as we do.

She has already developed a deep loathing for the vacuum cleaner!  She hid in the bathroom hunkered down behind the toilet after that experience.  She won't fit there for long though, she is growing like a weed.  I find myself vacuuming when the boys have her outside just to keep her from having another panic attack!

Thanks for stopping by!
I hope you all have a wonderful 4th of July Weekend!

Colorful Summer Table

Summer is calling!  Telling me I need to set a casual fun table!

When I saw these light turquoise and orange chevron napkins - they just sang summer to me.

I paired them up with some matching pillar candles, keeping the center piece light.
Some fun summer drinks and mugs
and some cute straws!
I stuck with mostly white plates, and popped an orange scalloped dinner plate in there for some additional color.
I ended up with a bright, breezy summer look.
Ready for a respite from the sun on those weekend days we spend working in the yard.

I have been a bit busy these days because we have a new addition to our family!Meet our new puppy - Lucy!
With being on constant puppy watch - not a whole lot is getting done around here!!  She is a challenge and Brandy has been a big help watching over her.
In no time - Lucy will be bigger than Brandy.
Lucy is half Golden Retriever and half St. Bernard, Brandy is half Golden Retriever and half Lab.
It is going to be many Dog Days of Summer around here!

Thanks for stopping by!
