Fish Dinner!

We are having dinner with the fish, instead of a fish dinner!
One of my favorite things about living on this lake, is that early in the morning you can hear all the fish jumping!  If you are alert, you can see the fish jumping out of the water.
While I don't live in the south, it always reminds me of the song Summertime by George Gershwin.
Summertime
And the livin' is easy
Fish are jumpin'
And the cotton is high
This is from Porgy and Bess, many may know the musical film, but the original music score is an opera.  I like to sing this on my balcony when I hear the fish jumping,  but I am a horrible singer, and I really slaughter such a beautiful song!!
So while my fish aren't jumping, they are my centerpiece to these plates that slightly resemble fish scales and fish eyeballs!!  Yep, I tend to see things in a different light than others!!

I made some little tags for my napkins and just tied them on with some thin rope.
The bamboo flatware reminded me of the bamboo fishing pole I used to fish with when I was a little girl!
I just now noticed the two flies that dropped by to check out my table!
Oh Well,
I hope the livin' is easy for you this summer!

Thanks for stopping by,
Ann

In the past few years my interests have grown from fabric to paper and now to dishes too! I just love prints, polkadots, plaids and paisleys- hence the blog name.

  4. Just love your fish theme table. The place to be is at the lake or by the pool this time of the year. I love that song, too. That plate is great and colorful and love your imagination. Hope you will pop over to Tea in Texas "Patriotic Bear" to view my unusual patriotic plates!
    Have a grand weekend!
