New Year's Eve Tablescape

We are ringing in the New Year a day or two early!
I actually had to look up if the term is Ringing in the New Year,
or Bringing in the New Year.
For future references - either one is correct!
We are doing it in style with lots of shiny gold this year!
What better than a gold paisley table cloth to set the tone.
 Stripes, stars and even plaids to add to the mix of patterns on this table.
I even got some polka dots on the champagne flutes in there!
I could not decide which coffee mug I liked better, so I mixed and matched the plaid and the houndstooth.
Ring out the old, ring in the new,
Ring, happy bells, across the snow;
The year is going, let him go;
ring out the false, ring in the true.
- an excerpt from an Alfred Loyd Tennyson poem

While this past year has had it's ups and downs, I choose to celebrate the ups!!
I hope that 2018 brings you many wonderful opportunities to enjoy the ups!

Thanks for stopping by,
Ann

In the past few years my interests have grown from fabric to paper and now to dishes too! I just love prints, polkadots, plaids and paisleys- hence the blog name.

  1. Love all the gold and different patterns of it! The paisley tablecloth makes a wonderful backdrop to the sparkly dishware and accents on the table. The plaid and houndstooth mugs are fantastic - no wonder you couldn't decide. Best wishes for 2018 Ann!

  5. What a beautiful and special table for bringing in a new year! I'm crushing over each detail. I love using gold and white for a celebration. I have some pretty ruffled gold dinner plates and would love to find some gold star salad plates as accents. Pinning this for inspiration!
    Happy 2018!

  8. Well, I'm glad to have a 2nd chance to see this one! I missed it because I had surgery on the 5th or 6th (who can remember when you're crazy with pain?) and was still all drugged up by the New Year! I barely knew my own name!!! I hope that the posting of your 10 Favorites brings about a surge of views and comments for this beautiful tablescape that would be a shame to miss! I am trying to think if I have ever seen such a pretty houndstooth coffee cup in my life?!! Something about the gold and white as opposed to the more traditional black & white...gorgeous! Who am I kidding...EVERYTHING looks better in glitzy metallics!!! (Except teeth. I am not a fan of shiny metallic teeth!) Happy New Year 4 months late!!!
