Easter Blooms and Bunnies

With Easter upon us, I broke out the bunnies and set the table!
Easter is a time for new beginnings and fresh growth,
As Christ gave us new life.
We celebrate this new beginning with lots of blooms, bunnies and eggs at this Easter table.

These bunny plates, from Michael's and Pat Catan's, had four in the series, one just as cute as the next.
There are more cute little tiny bunnies trying to climb up on the pedestals holding the eggs.
I used lots of white as a reminder of the fresh start Easter gives us.
But added some bright pops of pink with these big blooms for the napkin rings - they kind of give hope to the little buds in the centerpiece!
We will be celebrating our Easter dinner at our daughter's house again this year.  She conveniently lives right between us and our son's - so she graciously offered to host Easter dinner.
I hope you all have a wonderful Easter!

Thanks for stopping by,
Ann

Spring Chick's Table

Happy first day of Spring!!
I am welcoming spring with a table full of soft, pastel yellows and pinks,
and of course, tulips.
This table got it's name for more than the fact that there are some adorable little chicks on the table.
But because my husband says no guy would ever want to sit at this table!
There for it became a Spring Chick's Table.

I am happy to be included in a wonderful Springtime Tablescape Hop put together by the wonderful and talented Chloe Crabtree from Decorate and Celebrate.
This is the second day of 22 bloggers showing wonderful spring tablescapes to inspire your decorating for the season.  All of the links to the fabulous bloggers involved are at the end of this post for your enjoyment.
All of the pastel stripes just kind of fell in place after I found these two pitchers in HomeGoods last week.
My daughter had just given me a HomeGoods gift card for my birthday- but the last two or three times I had been in HomeGoods I really hadn't found anything. But Lo and Behold!! This time I hit the jackpot!
I found these pretty pale yellow and pink plates and the two pitchers that coordinated with them. My cart was full of finds, several things for future tables. But I still wasn't sure what I was going to use for a table cloth, until I walked next door into Stein Mart  -
and found this beach towel!! It had the perfect stripes on it - I figured - why not - everyone is using scarves on tables - why not a beach towel!
The napkins I had, so I went down in my stash of things to find something special to use as a napkin ring. I found this spool of pastel striped ribbon I had left over from wrapping a baby gift and tied simple bows around the napkins.
For some place cards I got out my little Crayola watercolors and just quickly swished some pastel stripes on a piece of paper. It was dry in just a minute, then used a die cut to cut the tags out of my watercolor paper, wrote the names on with a light green marker and tied them onto the napkins.
I finished off the table with these beautiful tulips that just scream springtime in Ohio!
Although - since it is still snowing every other day here -these came from the grocery store and not my garden!!

Here are the links to all the blogs involved in this week's hop.  Please check the other wonderful springtime tablescapes and see which one you like the best!

Nesting, Early Spring Tablescape

Welcome to my Early Spring Tablescape!
Since things have not really started turning green here - I am having a hard time going in that direction just yet.  We are still in the grey stages up here in the north.
There seems to be a lot of nesting going on.
We are seeing the birds coming back and busying themselves with the important task of making new homes.
I am normally a very symmetrical person, so this table seems a bit wonky to me.
Not only did I offset the placemats, I also offset the plates to fit my napkin on the side.
It is hard enough for me to let the fact go, that I only have two utensils on the left and three on the right.  This is like living dangerously for me!!
I just love these sort of woven wood nests, you should have seen me jump for joy when I saw that they weren't as expensive as I thought they were going to be, so I bit the bullet and bought one for each place setting.
I hope your getting your nest all ready for a wonderful spring!

Thanks for stopping by!

Happy St. Patrick's Day!

We are celebrating St. Patrick's Day here!
With lots of clover,
and some very friendly leprechauns!

I am feeling extremely lucky!!
Maybe I should go by a lottery ticket!

But I am also feeling some extra fun is headed our way on St. Patrick's Day,
as I do every year, because it is my Birthday!
We always have fun and usually celebrate with some green beer.
I hope you feel just as lucky!
Cheers to a fun St. Patrick's Day!

Thanks for stopping by~

When Life Hands You Flowers You Take Them!

What do you do at the end of your son's wedding and there are tons of flowers dumped out of their vases just laying on a table to be thrown out?

If you are like me, you snap those puppies up and throw them into some empty liquor boxes and cram them into your car with everything else, including wedding gifts, chalkboards and all the groomsmen tuxes.
Then hall them half way across the city, you make the valet parker wait while you unload them and try to get them up to your hotel room.
You fill your ice bucket with water and jam as many as you can in it. Then borrow you daughter's ice bucket only to realize that so far you only have a quarter of the flowers you hauled back in water!
I was fighting a loosing battle to get these flowers back home still alive!
Then of course the next morning - we all went to breakfast, then had to return the tuxes.
But I finally got to the flowers and played with them on Monday morning.
But they were beautiful!!!  and I just couldn't leave them there on the table to be thrown out!!
The next day they were all dead!

I hope your having beautiful day!
Remember to water yourself so you don't start to droop.

Thanks for stopping by!
